In order to access some provincial money to retrofit the boat that the Mill Bay SAR team uses, the unit has to raise a considerable amount of cash themselves.
Chris Pasztor, Station Leader says they need to retrofit a 10 year old 25 foot rigid hull boat and the price tag is around 150,000 dollars.
He says they are a small unit so they’ve been fundraising for a couple of years….
