The province is increasing funds available to people who have been displaced by the BC wildfires.
In his first act as Premier, John Horgan announced that households will receive an addition 6-hundred dollars every 2 weeks they are unable to return home.
Originally, the BC government was providing a one time payment of 6-hundred dollars to cover basic needs.
Horgan is also setting up a task force, co-chaired by Ministers Mike Farnworth and Doug Donaldson who will be leaving to the affected areas tomorrow. Horgan says he plans to join them by the end of the week.
He also announced that the Provincial State of Emergency will be extended another two weeks. The current one is set to expire on July 21st.
