The Cowichan Valley Regional District has created a new position to help with internal and external communication.
The CVRD’s new Manager of Strategic Services Cynthia Lockery met with a group of journalists on Friday afternoon to discuss her role with the Regional District.
She says in addition to focusing on communication and engagement, she will also act as a public information officer during emergencies.
Lockery says they will be simplifying the CVRD website and its’ content so that it’s easier for the public to get information.
She says she will also be pushing for the use of more social media activity.
