Island Corridor Foundation Loses Funding

The Island Corridor Foundation is out $945,000 in funding after the Regional District of Nanaimo Board pulled their support.
Board Chair Bill Veenhof cites the major delays and changes in the train scheduling plan as reasons for backing out of the project. He says the Regional District of Nanaimo are still interested in any further correspondence or information from the foundation.
The funding was to be used for rail upgrades and the reintroduction of passenger rail service.
The Island Corridor Foundation says they need time for the board to meet before providing a comment.
