A solution for the slide could be near in Cowichan Bay.
Crews spent the day on Thursday cleaning the debris left from a recent slide on Cowichan Bay Road – and local officials are in talks with the Ministry of Transportation on finding a solution. CVRD Director for Cowichan Bay Lori Iannidinardo says developers need to be aware of the landscape when building.
Iannidinardo says she is impressed with the Ministry of Transportation for considering a biological approach to reinforce the slopes over a concrete wall.
Iannidinardo hopes the Ministry of Transportation begins work on this solution early this summer, when the conditions are drier.
