The Cowichan Valley Regional District continues to support the Island Corridor Foundation in efforts to bring passenger rail service to the Island. Last week, the Regional District of Nanaimo decided to withdraw their financial support from the foundation.
North Cowichan Director on the CVRD Jon Lefebure says there hasn’t been any discussions so far about changing their contribution.
The district has reserved 488 thousand dollar for the rail improvement project.
This Wednesday, the Island Corridor Foundation and Southern Rail will provide an update to North Cowichan Council on the future of rail service on Vancouver Island.
