With the show of support by the delegates attending the Association of Vancouver Island and Coastal Communities the Island Corridor Foundation is forging ahead.
Delegates showed strong support for the project and passed a motion calling on the federal government to release the committed $7.5 million in federal infrastructure funds was overwhelmingly endorsed.
Foundation co-chair, Judith Sayers says there’s lots of work to do but as soon as the money is released the project is ready to move forward….
In the meantime a Local Government Liaison Committee has also been established which is supposed to make it easier for members of councils and electoral area directors and the Foundation to exchange information.
