VIU enrollment up

VIU’s Cowichan Campus will be offering a triple credit program this fall at the Chemainus Secondary School.
High school students will be able to pair courses like grade 12 law with university level Criminology and, as a result, the grads will get four university credits on their high school transcript as well as credit for both courses.
Instructional Director, Keith Chicquen says programs like this make it easier for students to transition….
Since the new Cowichan Campus building opened its doors five years ago, the number of students attending classes there has increased by 17 per cent.
Warren Weir, Cowichan Campus Academic Administrator says the increase is partly due to additional programs the campus is able to offer as well as the expansion of the dual credit program with School District 79.
