Seniors’ Care Needs To Be A Priority, According to BC Health Critic

82-percent of seniors homes in BC, including Sunridge Place in DuncanĀ are not receiving adequate funding to support the minimum staffing guidelines set out by the province, according to the seniors advocate.Ā NDP Health Critic and MLA for Westminster Judy Darcy says this is a serious problem in BC.
Last week, we spoke to a local resident about her frustration with the seniors care in our community. Darcy says she isn’t the only one. Families across the province are struggling with the decision to put their loved ones in homes due to the conditions.
Darcy says these people built our province and our country, and they deserve better. She says the government needs to make seniors a priority – and put enforceable standards in place for care homes in the province.
