CWAV Get Boost From Local Youth

A team of Brentwood College students in the Youth and Philanthropy Initiative were able to award a 5-thousand dollar grant to the Cowichan Women Against Violence Society, after winning for their presentation.
The grant will be combined with another from Canada Post to provde an additional 12-hoours a week of children’s counselling for one year. CWAV Executive Director Jane Sterk says their Children Who Witness Abuse Program is significant for the Cowichan Valley.
Sterk says its so encouraging to see youth become involved in their community.
Currently, there is a nine month long wait list for this program. Sterk says this grant will make a big difference in the lives of a number of Cowichan Valley children.
