Investigation into bus death continues

The driver involved in an incident that left a 56 year old bus passenger dead has identified himself to Nanaimo RCMP.
Mounties say the 63 year old Nanaimo man came into the detachment and gave a statement to police.
Police say a local transit bus driver was trying to avoid an accident when a pick up truck, towing a trailer, turned out of a parking lot in front of the bus.
To avoid a collision, the bus driver braked hard.
The passenger died after falling to the floor of the bus where he struck his head.
The investigation is ongoing.
