Chickens on the agenda

Chickens will be one of the topics up for discussion when the CVRD meets tomorrow (Wed).
A public hearing was held back in June at Bench School to hear what people thought about Island Farmhouse Poultry increasing the number of poultry that could be processed.
They want to increase the number from 3,000 to 5,000.
Noise, light pollution and the storage of poultry waste were some of the issues cited by the public and Council can consider addressing those issues through an amendment to the zoning bylaw.
Council will also be considering allowing residents in the Cobble Hill Village to house backyard chickens.
