ICBC is seeking a rate increase of 4 point 9 per cent, but if every possible avenue to keep rates down hadn’t been fleshed out, the rate increase could have been 15 point 5 per cent.
That’s how the province is selling the proposed increase.

If the increase is approved by the BC Utilities Commission it would mean an extra 3 dollars 50 cents a month for basic insurance coverage.
