Update:
BC Hydro says it will be tomorrow (Thurs) night before the power is likely to be back on on Gabriola and Mudge Islands.

About 3,500 hydro customers and internet and phone customers on Gabriola and Mudge Islands are without service today (Wed).
That’s after a barge, carrying a crane, ripped out some overhead lines last night (Tues).
Crews are on the scene, but damage is reported to be extensive and the repairs may not be completed until tomorrow (Thurs).
Telus is reporting, because they have to wait for Hydro crews to do their work first, it may not be until the weekend when internet and phone customers can be back on line.
