Another vessel incident near Tofino

26 passengers were on board the “Stellar Sea” when it struck bottom and got hung up on the rocks.

All passengers and two crew members were rescued and there were no injuries.

The incident happened Saturday evening and the Transportation Safety Board is investigating.

The Coast Guard is insuring there are no leaks from the vessel which is being salvaged by the owners, Jamies Whaling Station and Adventure Centres.

The company is the same one that was operating the Leviathan II a year ago when it overturned with 24 passengers and 3 crew members on board.

6 people died in that incident.
