The Cowichan Valley put together 25-hundred boxes for underpriveleged children through the Operation Christmas Child Campaign last year, and are hoping to double that this year.

Families can choose to fill a shoebox for a boy or girl with items like stationary, toys, and items like a toothbrush or soap. Marita Rosenlind is the Operation Christmas Child Coordinator at New Life Baptist Church, and says the boxes will be distribute to children around the world.

For more information on how to get a shoebox you can contact New Life CommunityBaptist Church in Duncan or the Oceanview Community Church in Ladysmith.

You can also pick up a supply of empty shoeboxes at the Island Savings Centre and Cowichan Commons.
