Contaminated site legislation quietly changed

The Liberal Government is receiving criticism from environmentalists after the Ministry of Environment changed the Contaminated Site Regulation last month.
This change means the allowable limit of substances in contaminated soil dramatically increased in some cases, while others decreased.
CVRD Director for Shawnigan Lake Sonia Furstenau talks about the effect these changes would have on the contaminated soil site the Shawnigan Lake community is currently fighting against.
Furstenau says the bigger problem is that there is a lack of overarching vision for contaminated soil in the province.
