19 properties submitted as part of CVRHD Expression of Interest

The work to build a new hospital in the Cowichan Valley is progressing nicely.

19 private land owners’ submitted properties for the Cowichan Valley Regional Hospital District (CVRHD) to consider during a recent Expression of Interest.

Those properties, along with others identified by a real estate expert, will be examined in the coming weeks.

But, even though the pieces are falling into place, Rob Hutchins chair of the CVRHD said they still have a ways to before shovels hit ground.

Hutchins says acquiring suitable property for a new hospital is one step in the planning process which remains in the very early stages. A new hospital would need regional and provincial support.

And, by all accounts the regional support is there.  By the end of June the CVRHD and Hospital District Foundation should be near the $17-million mark for funds set aside for the hospital project.
