The Town of Lake Cowichan is undergoing a bit of a renaissance of late. Just recently, and new health care team was introduced; that was followed by the hiring announcement of two new doctors, set to arrive in the summer.
But the revitalization of the downtown area is now in the cross hairs of council, the Chamber of Commerce and business owners.
Mayor Ross Forrest says last night at a public meeting they spent several hours discussing what the future could hold for the town, and how they are going to get there.
Forrest says the whole idea of the revitalization is to attract more people to the community.
Forrest adds they will revisit striking a committee at a meeting April 7.
