Six new BC Transit buses are arriving in the Cowichan Valley this summer.
The new buses are part of a replacement plan for part of the existing 18 year old fleet.
Fleet Management Director Denny Byrne says the new buses also have a host of new technology, including closed circuit television cameras to improve the safety of users and the driver.
She says these new buses are also expected to be more environmentally friendly.
The new buses are made by Grande West Transportation International Ltd, and can seat 24 passengers with standing room for another 20. Each bus costs about 319 thousand dollars, and is funded through the province and the CVRD.

CVRD Board Members, BC Transit Representatives and Guests rode in a new bus in the Cowichan Valley.
