Letter, appearing to be from the Capitals, is a fraud
Some long time season ticket holders of the Cowichan Capitals are in receipt of a letter that appears to have come from the Club.
However, Business Manager Scott Yanko says the letter, which he calls defamatory, did not come from the Capitals organization.
Yanko says anyone who gets the letter, which has the Capitals logo on the top and arrives in a handwritten envelope, is asked to contact the Club.
He’s not saying much about the contents of it, except that none of the statements are true.
He says he does not know how season ticket holders names and addresses could have been obtained by the letter writer.
Yanko says police have been called in to investigate.
