Fisher Road Recycling was given the green light to increase the amount of material that goes through the facility a month ago.
However, the company had 30 days to appeal a number of conditions that were attached to the agreement and they did not exercise that option.
One of the conditions was a comprehensive odour study.
The CVRD’s Senior Environmental Technologist Harmony Huffman says that will get underway this week….
Huffman says Fisher Road is paying for the bulk of the survey costs.
A similar survey just wrapped up in Chemainus with regards to a similar facility that prompted similar complaints about odour.
The information has to be compiled now and Huffman says they expect a report on that by the end of this month.
