Government, BCTF to resume labour talks soon

The provincial government and the BC Teachers Federation will sit down again Friday to restart negotiations.
The two sides say they hope a deal can be reached before classes start again in September.
But BCTF First Vice President Glen Hansman says the government needs to bring more money to the table. Not for salaries, but to deal with class size and composition issues.

Hansman says an announcement last week from the finance minister, about providing $40 per student per day to parents to pay for childcare if the strike drags on, is nothing but a diversion tactic.
