Elections BC is considering extending the deadline for the mail in ballots for the referendum.

The organization is currently assessing the full impact of rotating strikes at Canada Post but is warning, regardless of whether or not the deadline is extended, voters should return their packages as soon as possible.

In the meantime, Elections BC is reminding voters the deadline to request a voting package is tomorrow at midnight.

Eligible voters that haven’t received a voting package can ask for one on line, by calling Elections BC, or in person at a Service BC Centre.

At the Service BC Centre, you can actually ask for a package, fill it out right there, and drop it in a ballot box on site.

Completed voting packages must be received by 4:30 a week from tomorrow.
