Legislature rumour mill keeps churning

The drama is ongoing at the Legislature in Victoria with regards to the investigation of two top officials.

The most recent developments suggest the Speaker, who called for the investigation in the first place, wanted his special adviser to be appointed acting sergeant-at-arms just before the current one was escorted out of the building.

Premier John Horgan was asked what he knows about the situation and said he was as shocked as anyone about what went down but it’s business as usual at the leg.

“I also know that when there is an RCMP investigation and when there are not one, but two special prosecutors in play, the best course of action for me is to refer your questions and questions from the public to the RCMP.”

Clerk of the House, Craig James, and Sergeant-at-Arms, Gary Lenz were escorted out of the building Monday after question period.

The nature of the investigation has not been released.
