RCMP say they had to bring in an Emergency Response Team after a weekend incident at a Galiano Island pub lead to a confrontation between police and the suspect.
It all started around 8:30 Sunday night, when police got a call from a man saying he’d been assaulted and threatened at a pub on Sturdies Bay Road.
RCMP say when they went to arrest the suspect, things got physical and the man grabbed an axe. That’s when they called in the ERT.
Nobody was hurt, but 35 year old David (Troy) Fulton of Galiano is now facing several charges.
He was scheduled for a court appearance in Victoria October 29th.
