Cross fixed from Mt. Tzouhalem; land owners taking suggestions about future

The cross that had been mounted on the southwest slope of Mt. Tzouhalem could soon return to its long-time spot.

The popular Cowichan Valley landmark had to be repaired after being knocked down a couple of weeks ago, but not before being pulled out of a gully by a local family and their friends.

One of the founding fathers of Providence Farm, Jack Pearce, helped build the cross and mounted it in the early 1980s.

He says it’s ready to go and now it’s up to residents to let the owners of the land know how much it means to them.
The Nature Conservancy of Canada owns the land and is currently taking suggestions for the site including bringing the cross back.
