Grass Fire, Not Deemed Suspicious

North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP have determined that the cause of a grass fire set on Lemo Road was not criminal in nature.

Many local residents speculated that the fire may have been intentionally lit because of the ongoing animal abuse case involving Teddy the dog.

This blaze caused significant concern in the community but, RCMP said this fire wasn’t started due to racial motivation and was lit for legitimate reasons and got out of control.
