Alleged Island Hells Angel convicted at second trial

An alleged full-patch member of the Hells Angels from Nanaimo has been found guilty of extortion and theft over $5000.

Robert Frederick Widdifield’s trail began this fall and the decision was released on Tuesday morning. Neil MacKenzie speaks for BC’s Criminal Justice Branch.

MacKenzie says the charges against Widdifield were stayed in June of 2013 as a result of a delay, but the Court of Appeal overturned that decision in May.

Widdifield’s case has been adjourned until January 12 to set a date for sentencing.
