Magnitude 5.2 quake hits off North Island

There’s been another earthquake in the region.

The magnitude 5.2 quake hit 221 kilometres west of Port Hardy around 2:15am January 2nd.

Natural Resources Canada says there have been no reports of damage, and they don’t expect any.

In fact it doesn’t seem that many people even felt the early morning tremblor, although it was felt “lightly” as far away as Vancouver.

Last month there were a half dozen quakes registering between 4.0 and 5.0 in the same part of the Pacific in the space of two days.
