VIJHL team owner gets 1-year peace bond for threatening other owners

One of the owners of a Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League team finds himself in deep trouble.
Campbell River storm owner Kevin Spooner has been issued a one-year peace bond.
Spooner thought his team was due some compensation under league rules after one of the team’s players joined Comox Valley.
In separate incidents, he threatened the owners of the Glacier Kings and their head coach. Neil MacKenzie speaks for BC’s Criminal Justice Branch.
The terms of Spooner’s punishment are to keep the peace and not communicate directly with the owners of the Storm, as well as to stay at least 10 metres away from them and at least 500 metres from their home.
