A pair of high risk areas in Duncan are in line for a safety makeover.
Safe Youth Cowichan and the Safer Futures Program worked together on ways to make the Trans-Canada Highway and James/Alexander neighborhood (pictured above on Google Streetview) safer to walk through.
Safer Futures coordinator Christy Villiers says Duncan and North Cowichan have agreed to use their ideas in the University Village Local Area Plan.
Villiers says those areas need improvements because a lot of youth use them to get to school, work or recreation activities.
