TSB says details from pilot likely to explain cause of float plane crash

The Transportation Safety Board says it won’t mount a full scale investigation into Monday’s float plane crash in the Gulf Islands, but they are hoping to get some details from the pilot.

The Cessna 180 was on an “air taxi” run with one passenger when it went down in the water between Galiano and Salt Spring around 2 in the afternoon. The pilot and passenger were able to get out and were rescued.

There were no serious injuries, and the plane was towed to a nearby dock.
