Wellington Secondary reopening Tuesday afternoon

Nanaimo RCMP have completed their search of Wellington Secondary School after a bomb threat was called in.

Acting Superintendent John Blain says they’ve determined there’s no credible threat, so they are reopening the school.

Blain says students are expected to return to class at 12:05pm. He says SD68 has a protocol in place to respond the bomb threats. He says they were fortunate that the call came in early, so very few students were actually in the school when it was evacuated.

Blain says SD68 is thanking staff, parents and students for their patience and cooperation.
