North Cowichan pumps brakes on tax hike talks for industrial properties

Hiking taxes on industrial properties doesn’t appear to be apart of North Cowichan Council’s budget plan any longer.

Councilor Al Siebring says he originally proposed the motion to help take the pressure off homeowners. However, he says Council had  a different take on it at a meeting on Thursday.


Siebring says they heard Catalyst Paper had some concerns.


Siebring says, in general, budget talks are going well and that an overall tax increase should be around 3 per cent.
