A scary scene developed late Friday morning in the northbound lanes of the Trans-Canada Highway at the Henry Road turnoff to Chemainus.
An SUV rolled on the highway trapping two people and their dog in the front of the vehicle.
Bystanders stopped and raced up to the SUV to help before emergency crews had a chance to arrive on scene. They ended up holding the upper door of the vehicle open and helped both people and the dog out of the wreckage.
Both the driver and passenger were shaken up but didn’t suffer any serious injuries.
