NDP leader Tom Mulcair is visiting the area next week promoting the party’s small business platform.

Mulcair says the NDP sees coastal BC as a battle between the NDP and Conservatives in the coming federal election.

And his party is doing everything it can to get out to hear from voters.

Mulcair says one message he wants to talk about is the need to create jobs by using resources to make products here at home.  Not by shipping raw material abroad.

Mulcair will be in Powell River Monday, Nanaimo Tuesday and Duncan on Wednesday.  His Cowichan Valley stop will include a morning tour of the Cherry Point Winery in Cobble Hill.
