The Town of Ladysmith is going to change the rules for some of its four-legged citizens.
Mayor Aaron Stone says the Parks and Rec Committee has been talking about how to offer better options for dog owners, while reducing the potential for conflicts when they take their pets into public spaces.
Stone says the Town is looking at new regulations for dogs at Transfer Beach, to set out clear boundaries for on and off-leash areas.
And, they’re scouting potential sites for a fully fenced off-leash park.
The price of a dog licenses is also going up.
Council has approved a 4 dollar increase starting in 2016.
