BC SPCA looking to speak with owner of badly hurt puppy found in Duncan

The BC SPCA will be recommending criminal charges if it appears an injured puppy found near Providence Farm in Duncan was a victim of animal cruelty.

Lorie Chortyk is with the BC SPCA. She says at this point they don’t know all the facts, so they would like to speak to the owner of the five-month-old Collie/German Shepherd mix.

She says the puppy was discovered last week and was found bleeding, malnourished and with a rope dug about an inch into his neck.

Chortyk says the puppy has been named Jay after the vet who did the surgery.

She adds anyone with information on the case is asked to contact the BC SPCA.
