The Municipality of North Cowichan is getting closer to figuring out a budget for the next five years.
Mayor Jon Lefebure says coming up with a long-term financial plan is always a challenge, however, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
He says at this point it appears there will be a tax increase over three per cent because of a few factors.
Lefebure says this week they will be looking at tax rates for different classes, including businesses and people’s taxable earnings.
