Cowichan Community Policing’s Safe Seniors “U” starts May 6

Cowichan Community Policing is starting a series of crime prevention and safety classes for seniors next week.

They’re calling it the Safe Seniors “U” Project, and it’s open to any senior in the Cowichan Valley area, from Ladysmith to Mill Bay .

Carol-Ann Rolls is the Manager of Community Policing Programs. She says there’s another benefit to the classes, beyond just making seniors aware of things like internet scams.

Rolls also says when people learn together in a relaxed atmosphere, and get a chance to share their own stories, they tend to remember the information better.
