A 35-year-old cyclist was sent to hospital with minor injuries after being struck by a car in Duncan on Wednesday night.

North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP say the woman, who is from Cowichan Bay, was trying to bike across a crosswalk when the “do not cross” sign was flashing.

They say that witnesses said the car didn’t hit the cyclist very hard after trying to make a turn at the intersection of the TCH and Trunk Road.

Police say the driver of the Nissan Altima, a 22-year-old woman from Lake Cowichan, isn’t facing any criminal charges.
