CVRD gets money from province for new bike path

The Cowichan Valley Regional District is one of five communities on Vancouver Island that will get BikeBC funding from the provincial government.

The CVRD is getting $440,000 to add a 3.8 kilometre separated bike path from Sooke Lake Road Trailhead to Stebbins Road on the Cowichan Valley Trail.

Victoria, Saanich, Langford and Port Alberni will also be getting money to expand and build cycling lanes and paths.

The funding total for all five projects is almost $1,400,000.
