Outer Gulf Islands RCMP say they’ve arrested a man suspected in a series of break-ins to homes on the north end of Galiano Island over the past few weeks
RCMP say they called in the Nanaimo-based West Coast Marine Section on Saturday for a report of a man inside a home.
Police claim he’d broken in and had been “squatting” on the property for a while.
Richard Carlton is due in court Wednesday on charges that include breaching probation, break and enter and possession of stolen property.
RCMP say they’ve recovered thousands of dollars worth of stolen property. They also say Carlton was wanted on several outstanding warrants.
