Fire crews were called out around 4:50 Friday morning to deal with a major blaze at the White Spot restaurant on the Trans Canada Highway near Cowichan Way.
There are no reports of injuries, and it’s not believed anyone was in the building at the time.
Smoke and flame can be seen rising from the roof of the building.
RCMP have Cowichan Way, near the Trans-Canada, closed to traffic. Expect traffic delays along that stretch of the Trans-Canada.
