Ridings in our region are notable for being tight contests, and being among the few in Canada with Marxist Leninist candidates in the race.
The party is fielding candidates in Nanaimo-Ladysmith, and Cowichan-Malahat-Langford.
Anna di Carlo is the national leader. She says their basic principles include economic sovereignty, better social programs, an end to war as a policy tool for governments, and electoral reform.
di Carlo says other parties’ promises to end “first past the post”, are meaningless without opening up participation for ordinary Canadians.
The Marxist Leninists in this region are: Jack East in Nanaimo-Ladysmith, and Alastair Haythornthwaite in Cowichan-Malahat -Langford.
