Protesters march through Duncan to raise awareness about sustainable forestry

About 75 people marched and protested in Duncan on Friday afternoon to raise awareness about sustainable forestry in the province.

The Ancient Forest Alliance and Pulp, Paper and Woodworkers of Canada rallied in solidarity to drive home the message: Exported logs equal exported jobs.

The Alliance’s Ken Wu says it’s time for the provincial government to step up.

Wu says they picked Duncan as the site of the protest because it’s the centre of consciousness when it comes to raw log exports.
