Olivia and Oliver set to become top baby names

Olivia and Ethan were the number one most used baby names in 2014.
According to B.C.’s Vital Statistics Agency it looks like Olivia is still running strong for girls and Oliver may edge out Ethan, the most popular boys name for 2014.
2015 statistics will not be available until later in the new year.
Rounding out the top five names for girls born in the province in 2014 were Emma, Sophia, Emily and Chloe.

For baby boys, other names in the top five were Liam, Lucas, Oliver and Mason.

The last year for which full statistics are currently available is 2014 when 44 thousand 500 babies were born in B.C., consisting of almost 23 thousand boys and 21 thousand 5 girls.
