North Cow puts up barrier to protect townhouse complex, residents from vehicles going off road

North Cowichan has put up a cement barrier on a part of Cowichan Lake Road to protect a townhouse complex.

The Municipality’s Dave Conway says residents at 3266 were concerned about their safety as several accidents in that area involved vehicles going off the road and into the complex.

He says it became apparent something had to be done after meeting with a few different groups.

Lisa Stevenson lives in one of the units damaged in the past.

Stevenson says she relieved to see the barrier go up because the part of her home that was damaged is the place where her son often plays in.
