Low dollar not affecting Sunfest

The Bank of Canada maintained its benchmark interest rate at point 5 per cent today.

The Canadian dollar jumped about half a cent on the rate news but as it hovers around the 70 cent mark the price of imported goods from the U.S. gets more expensive.

That expense includes the cost of talent for shows like Sunfest in the Cowichan Valley.
Emmalee Brunt is with Wideglide Entertainment, the organization that puts on Sunfest……
Brunt says there are a lot of fluctuations in costs in the music industry and Wideglide Entertainment did budget for the Sunfest event  based on a lower dollar.
